Racing history.
Over 1,000 race victories in seven active years — more than any other Grand Prix car of its era. Ettore Bugatti designed the Type 35 in 1924 in Molsheim for the Grand Prix de France in Lyon. What followed was a period of dominance unmatched in motorsport history.
Targa Florio, Mille Miglia, Grand Prix d'Europe: the car didn't win sporadically, but systematically, season after season, on every surface. Its superior driveability and reliability made it the tool of choice for the greatest drivers of the time — Chiron, Varzi, Williams.
Today most original Type 35s live in museums or private collections. Owners who want to drive one turn to Pur Sang.
What Pur Sang builds.
The Pur Sang workshop in Paraná, Entre Ríos builds every component of the Type 35 to original drawings from Molsheim. The engine block is cast in the in-house foundry — no bought-in parts, no simplified assemblies. The aluminium bodywork is shaped by hand on the English wheel, the wheels forged in the in-house smithy. Each car takes 16 to 20 months and leaves the workshop as a numbered individual piece.
